Study: Everyone Should Take SAT Less Seriously


In my forthcoming book I have several chapters devoted to my thoughts on education and technology as well as college in general and as it pertains to African American youth in particular. One of the areas that I deal with is standardized tests such as the SAT and ACT. These tests are not what they appear to be and there is no proof that scoring well on these tests predicts your success in college no more than scoring poorly predicts struggles in college. Just this week an article was published by the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development that echoes the sentiments I have relayed in my book. Here is the article.

Technology jobs to bode well during downturn

Although we are about in the midst of an economic crisis some research organizations are predicting that as companies react to the financial crisis it will spur more opportunities for information technology professionals. I would love to see African Americans become more involved in technology. That is the reason why I started this forum and why I am working on initiatives to improve our participation.
